Great Local Towns To Explore
For all your food needs, Coleford town centre (less than two miles away) has a great fruit and vegetable shop, a local butchers and bread shop. For information on our local village facilities visit our Local Information section.
In Coleford there is also a well-stocked Co-Op which also has a café and a Tesco Metro which is open late.
For more quirky and independent shops and nice clothes (there is a White Stuff and Fat Face as well as New Look and Peacocks) and accessories head to Monmouth, Great café culture, a wine bar, a few larger chain pubs and independent pubs and a few nice restaurants as well (Mexican, Thai, Chinese and Indian to name a few).
There is also a market at the weekend down near the old bridge.
There is also a Waitrose and M&S Food in Monmouth – both of which do the popular ‘Dine in For Two’ menus and there is a Lidl.
For antiques, good restaurants and great tea shops and some nice riverside pubs head to Ross-on-Wye a beautiful drive from here anyway along the River Wye Valley through Lower Lydbrook (worth a stop off for a riverside moment).
This road does often flood too so if the weather has been bad it is worth checking it out to see if the waters have come up.
