The House of Bread is in the village of Christchurch just a few miles from Coleford towards Symonds Yat East, next to the village of Berry Hill.
For sat navs our postcode is GL16 7NS although the sat nav may say we are on the left in the village opposite the Church we are actually a little further on on the right! Just keep going and look for our signs.
From Bristol, South West and Southern England: take the M4 going west towards South Wales, take the M48 bound for Chepstow and go over the Old Severn Bridge (the M48). Once over the bridge, take the Chepstow turn and follow the signs for the A48 to Gloucester. Go through the traffic lights (Tesco on your right) and over the river. Follow the A48 for approximately 1/2 a mile and take the left turn sign posted Forest of Dean, Tutshill and Coleford (the B4228).Follow this all the way to Coleford. Once in Coleford go straight on through the traffic lights (Town Square to your left) and then right following the signs for Berry Hill and Symonds Yat East. Straight over the A4136 Monmouth Road and this turns into Ross Road. Past the left turn to Forest Holidays Lodges/Bracelands Campsite and another to Symonds Yat East, past Christchurch Church on your right and we are just a little further on to your right.
From South Wales: either head for Chepstow and follow the directions above or head up the A40 or A466 to Monmouth and take the A4136 up to the Forest of Dean (you can’t turn right off the A40 so you will need to go to the next roundabout and come back to go left over the River and up the hill following the A4136 towards Gloucester). Go through Staunton and through the traffic lights with the right turn to Coleford, come to the Pike House junction and turn left signposted Symonds Yat East and Ross-on-Wye. This turns into Ross Road. Past the left turn to Forest Holidays Lodges/Bracelands Campsite and another to Symonds Yat East, past Christchurch Church on your right and we are just a little further on to your right.
From Mid and North Wales. Hereford etc: Head for Abergavenny or Ross-on-Wye and take the A40 to Monmouth as you near Monmouth take the A4136 left (if coming from Abergavenny you can’t turn right off the A40 so you will need to go to the next roundabout and come back on yourself to go left over the River and up the hill following the A4136 towards Gloucester) over the river towards Gloucester and follow the instructions above.
From Gloucester and the M5: follow the A40 towards Ross-on-Wye (great farm shop at Over) and then take a left (A4136 to Monmouth) at Huntley (Petrol Station and Forest Products on the corner). Follow this through the lights at Cinderford, through Brierley until you come to Five Acres (car garage and traffic lights). Turn right and drive through Berry Hill village until you reach a main crossroad, turn right again and this is Christchurch village. Ignore the left turn to Symonds Yat East, go past Christchurch Church on your right and we are just a little further on to your right.
Parking is round the back of The House of Bread in a private courtyard. To get to this you need to take a right turn (just before The House of Bread with the house on your right-hand side) down a lane called Coopers Road. Follow this for 100m or so and take a sharp left onto a gravel track around the end of our outbuilding and up into our courtyard.
NB: If you are lost head to Coleford, follow the signs for Berry Hill or Symonds Yat and stop and ask someone, practically everyone who lives around here knows where The House of Bread is or phone us!
