If you are looking for just a couple of nights stay, you might want to consider our book ahead B&B option in Home Cottage. This offers you well thought out, perfectly situated, peaceful B&B accommodation in a characterful, cosy, stone country cottage.
With a wealth of activities and beautiful scenery practically on the doorstep you can enjoy a romantic weekend away or a fun filled activity break. It’s up to you! Please note however: due to the flexible nature of our accommodation,we can only usually accept advance bookings for B&B.
Our book-ahead B&B accommodation is provided in Home Cottage which has 2 bedrooms.
Room 1 – is a comfortable double with a king-sized bed.
Room 2 – is slightly smaller and can be set up either as a double (with a superking-sized bed) or as a twin with two single beds.
B&B guests also have a cosy guest lounge with a TV with Freeview and a CD player/Radio with I-pod connectivity and a range of books, games, CDs and DVDs. The 2 bedrooms share a family sized bathroom with a shower and bath and there is Wifi. There is also a pretty, enclosed outside seating area with a table and chairs.
Both bedrooms have TVs with Freeview and tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities. Both have generous cupboard and drawer space and there is access to a porch room with a washing machine and tumble dryer and racks for muddy boots. The porch is also a great place for drying off muddy dogs (please bring your own towels!). There is also an iron and ironing board.
B&B guests can use the B&B kitchen and dining/breakfast room by arrangement and at a cost of £5 to make an evening meal (until 9.00pm) if this suits you more than going out (although there are great local pubs within walking distance).
For smaller guests we have a highchair and stairgate should you need them.
The pretty courtyard offers off street parking and a great place to sit and soak up the sun and local countryside views. We also have a bike shed where you can lock your bikes overnight.
Please note: we are sorry but because of the configuration of Home Cottage it is not suitable for wheelchair users.
As part of your stay we can also offer:
- help and advice on local activities and booking
- home-made maps of local walks
Breakfast is served in the light and airy breakfast room and is usually served between 7.00am and 9.00am. We use as many local ingredients as possible and use our own chicken eggs where we can. We offer a selection of yoghurt, cereal and fruit followed by sausage, egg, bacon, tomatoes, hash brown, baked beans and mushrooms (or your choice within that) with toast and the usual tea or coffee options. If you have any specific dietary requirements then please let us know when booking so that we can accommodate them.
Checking in and out
Check in is generally from 4.00pm onwards and check out is by 10.00am on your last day.
Tasty packed lunches are available at a cost £8.00 per person. Please let us know by midday the day before if you would like a packed lunch.
Use of B&B kitchen
We charge £5 per night for use of the B&B kitchen for cooking by B&B guests.
Four legged friends
At The House of Bread, we are extremely dog friendly but do charge an extra £5.00 per night per dog. Generally we allow one dog per room and ask that you bring a supply of your own dog towels and use the porch to dry your dog, bring a dog bed and do not leave your dog unattended in the cottage or let them get on the beds or sofas.
