Get in Touch with Your Creative Side
Hot Pot Pottery
At The House of Bread we also run Hot Pot Pottery so you can get in touch with your creative side while you are here! Try our popular 2 hour pottery trial classes or have a go at pottery painting. Or perhaps you might want to ask us to design you a Creative Break to have more time in the studio while you are here and to cover more techniques than we do in our 2 hour trial classes. We also regularly run Special Event Days or Weekends where we have fun with themed pottery activities and food.
Contact us to find out more.
Pottery trial classes cost £30.00 per person and take place in our studio (NB: guests staying with us get a 10% discount on class price exc. delivery).
The classes last 2 hours and are suitable for kids (5 and over) and adults. They are great for family or adult groups celebrating a hen do or birthday. We take 2-8 people in a class and classes include an introduction to the equipment, clay demos, firing, glazing and the kilns and time spent learning and trying out fun 3 practical hand-building and throwing techniques. At the end you can select up to 4 favourite pieces each (extra pieces will be charged at £3.00 per piece) that you want to leave for firing and choose from our house glazes. If a firing is not due while you are here then postage and packing is £16.50 for a box of pots to one UK address.
Pottery trial classes need to be booked in advance and are usually 10.00 – 12.00 or 2.00 – 4.00 – Thurs-Sun (with less availability some weeks depending on our schedule/Special Events).
Ever fancied painting a plate, mug or piggy bank? We have a range of pre-fired pottery blanks for you to have fun painting in our gallery. Pottery painting is bookable by groups of 4 or more 10.00-12.00 or 2-4 Thurs-Sun (with less availability some weeks depending on our schedule).
Pottery painting costs £6.00 per person to paint plus the cost of the piece you choose to paint (from £4.75 to £10.00). Postage and packing if a firing is not due while you are here is £16.50 to one UK address.
If you are a group of 4 or more then you might want to pre-book a Group Meal to be served before/after your pottery activity. Orders must be placed at least 4 days in advance of your booking, allergies and intolerances advised at time of booking..
